Love, Teresa and Randy 7/30/2006 Is Tomorrow the Day?!?!?Well................... after many, many months of waiting, it certainly looks like we could be getting our long awaited referral phone call tomorrow. We have been on pins and needles for sooooooooo long that now we know it's coming, we are at peace and calm. Of course, Saturday was not so peaceful............ we'd read that some families had got their referrals on Friday and yet we didn't hear one peep out of our agency which made things worse. Since the CCAA site has not been updated, we are completely in the dark about whether we are even going to get our referral this month or not. Since I spoke to two of the families and their LID is the 8th for one and 12th for the either, we are fairly certain that we will get our call tomorrow with news about Ella.
We will be posting pictures and info. as soon as tell our families the great and awesome news so until then.................. this mom-to-be is going to bed.
Goodnight my sweet Ella Bella, mama and baba are coming to get you soon! 7/29/2006 The long waitI cannot tell you how excrutiating it is to get through this weekend. We didn't hear a word from our agency on Friday regarding our referral and the internet rumors are saying Monday will be THE day. The fact that some people got their referrals already made the knots in our stomachs even tighter. What gets me is that some agencies keep their clients informed on a daily basis, especially around this time of the month when referrals come in. Unfortunately for us we're left in limbo until Monday. I feel like I'm taking an essay exam and the clock is winding down to the last five minutes and I have nothing written down. The weekend is half over and Monday will come soon enough....let's just hope my nerves aren't shot by then. I sit and wait on pins and needles.
-Randy 7/26/2006 Referral RumorsToday was a good day! I read on both the Rumor Queen and JulyDTC groups today that referrals are through LID of July 13th and will be out by Monday. The CCAA site still has not been updated but since they are still moving offices, it may be updated by the end of the week. Randy and I went to dinner to celebrate the good news. When we actually get the call about the referral, we'll be running for champagne. We are trying to figure out ways to tell our families the great, awesome news without giving it away totally. They'll have to wait and see what we have planned. I hope we can keep it a surprise until then..........
A few more days till I get to see my precious Ella's face. It is so hard to believe that we already have a daughter that's been matched to us just waiting for us to come get her and bring her home. Maybe we'll have more news tomorrow................ RumorsRumors are a part of our lives whether we like them or not. Some rumors are true, some are false. Some are twisted and some are just plain ridiculous. But for the most part a simple rumor can affect the way we think of things. Take for instance the adoption webgroups and various blogs on the 'net. People voice their opinions and share different thoughts of what they're going through during the adoption process. It's a vast world of people who are in the same boat as we are, who go through the same things we're going through, and feel the same things we feel. Webgroups and blogs shed some light in the dark world of the adoption process. But sometimes that light can dim when false rumors enter the scene. All it takes is one person to whip up some crazy story out of the blue and the lives of many people are affected. Sometimes rumors can be so bad that people lose hope. My way of dealing with rumors is to consider them to be true until they're false but not put too much faith into them. Does that make sense? Anyways, consider the main source as judge, jury, and executioner of rumors. In our case it would be the CCAA (Chinese Center of Adoption Affairs). One thing I must say, the roller coaster of rumors is one heck of a ride....not a dull moment.
-Randy 7/24/2006 A message from RandyHello to all and welcome to our website! Let me introduce myself; I'm Randy, the wonderful husband to Teresa and soon to be father of Ella. I really look forward to the days ahead as we expect our long awaited referral of our baby daughter. Hopefully we'll hear some good news in the next couple of days. Teresa is getting excited as am I. Although she tends to show it more while I tend to be more low key about it. Am I wrong? Perhaps it's my pessimistic side not wanting to jinx the whole thing. I truly am excited about becoming a father and starting a family. It's what I've wanted in life and one of the reasons I married Teresa. She's going to be a wonderful mother. It's in her blood and heart to be one. They say it doesn't take much to be a father, but it takes a lot to be a dad. I just hope to be the best dad I can be and offer her the world if I can. That's all for now, until next time.
-Randy No News Yet......Well, today there is still no news about referrals. The CCAA offices are currently being moved to a new location where the system will be more efficient and more organized. While this is nice for the CCAA employees and future adoptive families, it is not good for us since it delays referrals coming out for a week or more. Normally, we would have read on the CCAA site, www.china-ccaa.org last week that referrals would go through a certain log-in date (the rumor is through the 13th of July) and we'd be celebrating. Since our LID is July 8th, it looks like we are getting our referral this batch but with the move, we don't know when that is coming. It could be this week or could be next week. We are pins and needles in the Cuares house waiting the news. I just talked to Tina (my sis-in-law) and she tried to make me feel better knowing that it's just a few more days to wait but it's been such a long wait so far that a few days feels like weeks. She and my brother are so excited for us and it's been so nice knoiwing that we have support and encouragement. It hasn't been easy with some comments that have made along the way by people I won't mention but we know that we love Ella and want her more than anything and that's all that matters.
Till we have more news................
7/16/2006 Finally, looks like we are up next!Today on the July DTC board, the latest rumor from Spain is that the cutoff is the 13th and since we are the 8th, looks like we'll be getting our referral this month after all. It's been such a long journey and it seems like there is a light at the end of the tunnel after all. So many people have asked about Ella and when she's coming home and even though we are so grateful that people are concerned, it has become unbearable trying to answer since it's been totally out of our hands. Well, in a few weeks, we'll know for sure some definite information as well as a picture or two when someone asks.
We are so excited for Ella's arrival because it's been so long. We updated our baby registry yesterday and again, Randy was not all that excited. It's not a big boy toy store so he doesn't really like going. He said he doesn't want to jinx it by getting too excited. We've been let down so many times since our LID of July 8, 2005! It's been a long 12 months and it looks like we may be getting to the end of one journey, and preparing for another---parenthood!
7/5/2006 Still no news but we're up next!Well, the referrals for June 26, 2006 went to LID's through June 28, 2005. That cut us off by just a few days but the Rumor Queen shows us getting referrals this month. We'll have to wait and see........... |
